Automobiles in German Town Found Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police mentioned they were contacted by a man who discovered a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Roughly 50 vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Police then located many other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement say preliminary tests indicate the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; investigators are presently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the event," they commented.

City officials announced they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the community for details.

An important representative said the vandalism made him without words and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This event hits the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he stated on social media, referring to the killing of nine people by a shooter focusing on residents of migrant background in 2020.
